Ideon Media Wins Three 2025 Canadian Online Publishing Awards

Toronto, ON, February 17, 206

Ideon Media is thrilled to announce another milestone achievement for its owned and operated properties with three silver wins at the recent Canadian Online Publishing Awards. The winners of the 17th annual Canadian Online Publishing Awards were announced at a ceremony in downtown Toronto on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Ideon Media’s owned and operated site SavvyMom won silver for What the Mother Teaches in the ‘Best Video’ category. What The Mother Teaches is an Ideon Media and Motion Entertainment co-production that tells the story of Cree mother Sage Morin, who is also a professional wrestler known as The Matriarch. The three-part digital video series originally launched on September 30, 2025 in honour of National Day For Truth & Reconciliation. It offers a powerful and personal look at the challenges facing Indigenous mothers in Canada and the strength of their supporting communities.

Ideon Media’s owned and operated site 29Secrets won silver for ‘Best Multicultural Article’ for its feature length story of a beauty entrepreneur before she became a civil rights icon. “Before The Banknote: Viola Desmond, Canada’s Beauty Pioneer” was published in September 2025, and detailed Desmond’s journey building a business empire in a world that often denied Black women access to both beauty and power.

Finally, 29Secrets also won silver in the ‘Best Blog Column/Videocast/Podcast’ category for its acclaimed THE STORY OF column. This was the fifth consecutive year that the popular column has been recognized in the COPA category, showcasing a consistent dedication to excellence and innovation in Canadian digital publishing.

The COPAs started in 2009 as an industry showcase for the Best Digital Content creators in the magazine and newspaper industries. Over the years it has become the largest Digital Publishing Awards Program in Canada with four different divisions – Academic, Business-to-business, Consumer, and Media – and a mandate to reflect Canada’s multicultural diversity whenever possible.

A big congratulations to all the talented finalists and winners who showcased incredible work.
